77: Sausage Roll Scorecard — Catching up

Sausage Roll Scorecard updates have fallen into a state of disrepair of late and Greg J, I know you miss them. I have seven updates to catch up on now, so this update will be low on storytelling and high on brevity.

And, for the record, as of yesterday’s Friday Weigh-in I’m somehow still under the weight that I left home at. Go figure …

Wild Poppy Cafe (Merredin)

• Different pastry — quite nice.
• Different filling including carrots — quite tasty.
• Nice and hot.
• Nicole really liked it — so extra 0.2 points.
• Rating — 8.5 out of 10.

Forrest French Hot Bread (Collie)

• Vietnamese staff — so I felt very positive.
• Small in size.
• Not that hot.
• Tasted OK but nothing special.
• Rating — 7.9 out of 10.

Best in the West Bakery (Bunbury)

• We were getting groceries on our way to Myalup when Nicole spotted the bakery and we both said, “Why not!”
• Nice presentation and size.
• Good temperature.
• Filling quite dense but still tasty.
• Rating — 8.4 out of 10.

Wave Rock Cafe

• Very different appearance.
• Homemade — very nice pastry.
• Quite greasy — a good thing.
• Nice taste — with veges inside.
• Very impressive.
• Rating — 8.9 out of 10 (going Top 4!)

Ceduna Bakery (Ceduna)

• Nice and long!
• Good temperature.
• OK taste.
• Rating — 8.2 out of 10.

Elliott’s Bakery & Cafe (Streaky Bay)

• Nice town and nice bakery.
• Friendly service.
• Split it with Nicole — so as not to spoil lunch later that day.
• A different appearance, but good taste.
• Rating — 8.3 out of 10.

Elliston Bakery (Elliston)

• Looks good — and long!
• A bit too hot.
• Nice crunchy pastry.
• Greasy taste — a good thing.
• Firm filling — not really my style.
• Overall, pretty good.
• Rating — 8.2 out of 10.
