On Tuesday we drove from Yosemite National Park (or rather just outside it) to Bakersfield. A long day in the bus with just a few stops for food and comfort.
At one of the stops I had a quick chat to a guy who had a huge “pick up truck” which was towing the biggest caravan I’d ever seen. I asked if that was a big caravan by American standards and, you guessed it, it wasn’t. He said that it was just “pretty big” and that you can get caravans with three axles! He said there was a whole separate room at the front of the caravan and then a garage type area at the back. He had a quad bike in the back of his truck and I asked if he had any more in the back of the caravan. Two more back there! Everything is bigger in America.
At the same spot Katelyn had a good look around at some animals they were keeping, including some cute rabbits. Here’s a cubby house they had here too.

When we arrived in Bakersfield I had a quick look through the Costco across the road. I’d never been to one, so was interesting to look at.
Then we all went out for dinner at a Mexican restaurant. The waiter was a bit obsessed with languages, and was taking advantage of the presence of Fabio from Switzerland to polish up on his German. He also speaks or is learning Spanish, English, Arabic and Hindi. Plus he plays guitar and paints. Just a little bit talented.
